European Facial

If you’re interested in having healthy skin and have looked into various skin care options, then the “European facial” is essential to achieve your skin care goals. A European facial is a thorough, deep cleansing treatment for the face and neck. It is basic, uncomplicated, and meant to improve the look, feel, and health of the skin. The European facial, should continue as part of your ongoing skin care routine. A monthly routine should be considered as a quintessential treatment in good skin care.

  • Unclogs the pores and removes all impurities including black heads, whiteheads and pimples.
  • Detoxifies the skin for better circulation of blood to the face and adjoining areas.
  • Relaxes tension in the face and reduces the onset of headaches between the eyes.
  • Stimulates cellular renewal.
  • Reduces fine lines, age spots, and blemishes.
  • Hydrates the skin for a rejuvenated, youthful look to your face.

The Process

The European facial begins with cleansing to remove makeup and impurities. This is followed by an exfoliation process that removes dead skin cells and generates skin cell turnover. Next, the pores are deeply cleaned while steam is gently blown over the face. An extraction process for a deeper cleaning is the next step and based on individual needs, determined by the congestion of the pores. (This can be uncomfortable to some and may leave some redness for a few hours). Extractions are always followed with disinfection and then a soothing, antiseptic ampule is applied. To further the client’s relaxation, a face, neck, and shoulder massage comes next. After the massage, a mask is applied, Facial masks provide deep nourishment to the skin, and the benefits are many. Masks are used to moisturize, detoxify, increase circulation and replenish nutrients. The type of mask is determined by skin type, maturity of the skin, and its condition. Finally, a moisturizer with sunblock is applied. The European facial will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to greet the world with a healthy, glowing complexion.

Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks.

Microdermabrasion helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that’s abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.

Microdermabrasion is a quick and painless treatment that accelerates the rate at which dead skin is exfoliated, and jump-starts the proliferation of new skin cells. Microdermabrasion treatments rejuvenate sun damaged skin, reduce stretch marks, and minimize large pores and acne scaring. Microdermabrasion is also an excellent treatment for age spots and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. A series of microdermabrasion treatments are suggested to get the greatest results in treating hyperpigmentation, sun-damaged spots, dryness, fine lines and wrinkles and even minor acne scars. Microdermabrasion can be coupled with just about any other type of skin treatment and is usually recommended to be done every few weeks to every two or three months. Exfoliation has many benefits. The most obvious is the elimination of the dead skin, which allows treatment products to better penetrate the skin, by removing this layer, called the stratum corneum, irregular pigment can be tackled, too. You'll also see improvement in the skin's overall appearance and texture. Microdermabrasion goes deeper than other modes of exfoliation to help the skin replenish itself by stimulating cell regrowth.”

Suitable for all but the most sensitive skins. Microdermabrasion leaves your skin soft, radiant and glowing. Book your microdermabrasion appointment and love your skin today!

Eyelash Extensions

At Rae's Beauty Salon, experience and skill equals amazing-ness for your extended eyelashes. The service consists of the artisan applying single synthetic eyelashes to your lashes. Size availability ranges from 6mm-15mm and come in various thicknesses and curl, making the result extremely personalized and customized. Once selected, the lashes are applied one at a time using a specially formulated, semi-permanent glue that will not irritate the eye nor damage the natural lash.

Applying a full-set of lashes takes about two hours, and can be maintained year-round with touch-ups recommended every three to four weeks. A half set of lashes can also economically achieve a dramatic effect by applying extensions as filler to thicken natural lashes, or applied outward from the eye for a specialized look.

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent cosmetic makeup is an aesthetic procedure similar to tattooing, designed to benefit anyone who wishes to have a natural enhancement to their appearance without the use of makeup. It can be used for eyebrows, eyeliner above and below, lip lines, or full lip color. Permanent Makeup is revolutionizing the traditional world of cosmetics. It is not a fad but the cosmetic line of the future! Imagine having perfectly designed eyebrows, gorgeously defined eyes and sensual looking lips lasting not for a day but for several years. Over the last 20 years, the Permanent Cosmetic Industry has grown rapidly in popularity, coming a long way from the first brave soul who allowed her eyebrows to be tattooed by a tattoo artist. Today, tens of thousands of women have realized the benefits of permanent, hassle-free, hypo-allergenic, waterproof coloring of Micro-pigmentation.

Permanent Makeup benefits everyone of all ages who desire a soft, natural enhancement to their appearance. It is especially beneficial for people who can't wear other cosmetics due to allergies and skin sensitivities. It’s also great for those “on the go” people who want to look their best for activities such as swimming, hiking, golfing, tennis, aerobics, and other sports. It’s a fantastic solution for those of us who don't want to worry about sweating off or reapplying cosmetics. It's great for the vision impaired who have difficulty applying their cosmetics, and for others’ with motor impairments such as arthritis, Parkinson's disease, and other disabling conditions that cause unsteady hands, which makes it difficult to impossible to apply make-up. Permanent cosmetics are perfect for busy people who don't have time to spend on their make-up. All my pigments are hypo-allergenic and iron oxide free. o call now to set up an appointment for a free consultation.

Eyebrows may be one of the most overlooked yet most important beauty features of the face. The eyebrows add expression and definition to our face and eyes; they can frame and lift our face and eyes and bring a smile to our face. The eyebrows 'frame' the eyes and influence the total symmetry of the face.

Micro-pigmentation of the eyebrows can add fullness, shape, symmetry, and defined color tones to fair brows or to brows that have lost hair due to age or injury. Eyebrows that are too light, sparse, or nonexistent, can be beautifully enhanced and improved with micro pigmentation. When the eyebrows are fuller and extended, you get a more youthful appearance. I use your bone structure (not a stencil) as a guide to create the most flattering eyebrow design for you. Depending on the technique and colors used, your permanent brows can have the appearance of natural hairs with the hair stroke methodology or have the delicate soft appearance of color from brow shadow. Whatever end result you desire your natural facial features will be enhanced.

The application of permanent eyebrows allows you to regain your looks and eliminates the inconvenience of applying and reapplying makeup throughout the day. Forget about what your eyebrows look like and enjoy the confidence and freedom of knowing you always look and feel great. Are you tired of drawing on your brows everyday or having them melt off on hot days? Did you tweeze or shave your brows and they simply refuse to grow back? Are your brows naturally light or sparse? If your answer is yes, then you are going to absolutely love your permanent eyebrows.

Many people will report that, when the notice someone for the first time, they see the eyes. The eyes are often an area that ages first and can age quickly, giving way to the appearances of sadness, droopiness, puffiness and hollowness. Although permanent makeup cannot repair aging eyes by taking away excess skin or wrinkles, it can improve the appearance of the eye.

Permanent eyeliner is placed in the lash line, which enhances and defines the beauty of the eyes. You are going to be totally spoiled with your eyeliner. No more pulling on delicate eye tissue to apply or remove your eyeliner. Imagine not having smeared or smudged eyeliner. For gorgeously defined eyes or delicate eyelash enhancement, permanent eyeliner is your answer.

The color is applied using an applicator specially designed for facial cosmetic tattooing. This instrument gives us the highest degree of control for fine detailed work. Permanent eyeliner is applied with sterile supplies and topical anesthetics. Color is placed along the upper and lower eyelash margin creating a soft subtle halo around the eyes. Later, if you decide to increase the thickness and/or darken your liner we can do that during your follow-up/touchup visit (within 4-6 weeks).

What should you expect? The procedure takes approximately 2 hours of which the tattooing takes about 1 hour. Topical anesthetic is applied to desensitize the lids and make the procedure more comfortable. Many of our clients comment that their permanent eyeliner procedures are more comfortable than their brow procedures. Immediately, after the procedure your eyelids will be puffy and slightly red around the tattooed area. The amount of swelling varies from client to client but usually everyone leaves the clinic looking as if they've had a good cry. Your permanent eyeliner will appear thicker and darker initially. As the area heals you'll notice some of the color (scabs) flaking off which usually occurs during the first week. This is normal and to be expected. The end result is well worth it! It opens the eyes and makes them “pop.”

Although some people were born with perfectly symmetrical, plump lips, most of us are not so lucky. We feel a certain lacking in our appearance when we think that our lips are flat and thin. As we grow older, our lips seem to shrink. It is a part of the aging process. Permanent makeup can be a great solution to fix these problems. Beautiful, sensual lips are created by adding natural color where needed, achieving instant fullness and definition.

Lip enhancements are a great way of subtly replacing lost pigment especially to the outer border of the lips where it most commonly fades as we age. The technique of blending the pigment with the natural color of the lip ensures no harsh out lines. The initial treatment requires two visits spaced approximately 2-6 weeks apart. Permanent make up as the name implies requires periodical maintenance to ensure the freshness of the look, but you can expect the enhancement to last anywhere from 12 months to 36 months before a re-touch treatment is required. Permanent lip color is perfect for asymmetrical shaped lips, thick lips, thin lips, or lips with uneven vermillion borders. It will also eliminate the problem of lipstick “bleeding” into the fine lines around the mouth. Does your lipstick bleed? Have your lips lost their definition and natural coloring around the lip border? Imagine having lip color morning through night, 24 hours a day, throughout the year. Permanent lip color can give you the optical illusion of fuller looking lips without the painful and temporary injection of collagen.

Permanent lip color can be applied using several different methodologies. Depending on your personal preference, lip color can be applied only as a lip line to reshape and contour lips for a more defined sensual look. Many clients are deciding to have the lip line slightly blended into the lips for a softer less defined appearance. Another option is to have the entire lip filled with color for a more lipstick effect. You can chose colors that match your natural lip color or more vibrant lipstick tones. We highly recommend a color patch test to determine the right color for you. Selecting a color is a process that takes into account your natural lip color, your skin color, your lip shape and the desired base color. A lip procedure takes approximately 1 to 2 hours. Immediately after the procedure the color will appear darker and brighter than expected, but usually fades up to 20 to 35 percent within 4 to 6 weeks. At this time a touch-up is performed to put on the finishing touches. Your lips may go through several color changes. Around the 10th day the treated area may look as if the color has completely vanished. About the 14th to 16th day the color appears to resurface. Your lips may feel chapped for several weeks so be sure to keep them well moisturized with a lip balm.
